Military Grade Field Shield® Wound Dressing Spray is a spray-on hydrogel wound dressing that hydrates, seals, and protects dermal injuries to create and maintain a moist wound environment known to be conducive to healing. It is a first-of-its-kind spray-on dressing that combines antimicrobial silver hydrosol with lidocaine for rapid pain relief, and is FDA 510(k) cleared.
With active lidocaine, the dressing can relieve pain within about 30 minutes of application. The silver hydrosol has been shown to kill bacteria and fungi within the dressing and may inhibit growth of microorganisms such as Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Escherichia coli, antibiotic-resistant strains of MRSA and VRE, and fungi such as Candida albicans and Candida auris within the dressing.
This water-based hydrogel donates moisture to the wound, then sets into an elastic, semi-occlusive, transparent film barrier within about 5 minutes. Intended for use for up to 30 days, with reapplication recommended every 24 to 72 hours. Suitable for intact and compromised skin surfaces.
